You have THREE chances to guess the player that played for both corresponding teams. For any given square, the player must have played at least 1 game for both the row team and the team in the column.
For the statistical row or column, the player simply would have had to play for the team and achieved the statistic shown throughout his entire career. You have 3 guesses per square, or 27 guesses total!
